Do YOU See the Humor?

Someone sent this to my Mom - It is supposed to be some kind of High-larious joke, but I don't get it:

The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door:

Dear Dogs:

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print or slobber in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king-sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Dogs can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell other dogs' butts. Kiss me first, then lick your own private parts. I cannot stress this enough.

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:

TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:

(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember, dogs are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less
(2) don't ask for money all the time
(3) are easier to train
(4) normally come when called (bribing with treats may be necessary)
(5) never ask to drive the car
(6) don't hang out with drug-using people
(7) don't smoke or drink
(8) don't want to wear your clothes
(9) don't have to buy the latest fashions
(10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college
(11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ....

I am now accepting rebuttals - please leave them in my comments!

I'll start: Racing on the stairs is absolutely vital, because if my owner is going downstairs, there is probably going to be a food opportunity, and I want to be first in line! And if she is going upstairs, the only way for me to get the best spot on the bed, is to beat her to it!

They Were Right!

You know all those "experts" who say that dogs and their owners tend to look alike?

Kinda like these pics:

These folks do sort of resemble their doggies -

and I have noticed this tendency a lot on my own, by watching the folks walking their dogs in my neighborhood, and especially watching TV!

I love TV (just like my Mom)

My Mom and I have the exact same color of hair.

Mom won't let me show any pictures of her - she is real shy - not like me at all!

One of my Mom's friends painted this picture of my Mom on a rock -

My Mom has blue eyes, and red hair like me, but she doesn't look like a rock!

But anyway, my Mom sent me this link that is supposed to tell you what your personality is like, based on your blog writing style! So I figured I would check it out, and this is what it said about me:

My blog analysis indicates that I am of the type:

ESFP - The Performers

The entertaining and friendly type. They are especially attuned to pleasure and beauty and like to fill their surroundings with soft fabrics, bright colors and sweet smells. They live in the present moment and don´t like to plan ahead - they are always in risk of exhausting themselves. The enjoy work that makes them able to help other people in a concrete and visible way. They tend to avoid conflicts and rarely initiate confrontation - qualities that can make it hard for them in management positions.

This is exactly like me!
And sure enough, these are the same results my Mom got when she analyzed her blog!
So those experts are right - pets and owners tend to be a lot alike!
My Mom doesn't have as much hair as I do, and she doesn't smell as good as I do, but otherwise, you can hardly tell us apart!

Happy Holidays!

I haven't had much time for blogging ever since Mom bought her bead shop.

Now that she is gone a lot during the day (and sometimes at night, too) I have so much more to do here at the house! I have to patrol, and watch for bad squirrels, and bad cats, and those crazy people that keep walking around and around the neighborhood (don't they know they are just going in a big circle, getting nowhere?)

Sometimes Mom takes me to the shop with her, but please don't tell anyone, because I am not supposed to be there. Mom says the landlords don't approve of dogs - have you ever heard anything so ridiculous?

So here is how I am spending the holidays:
Here's my best smile!

And here's me taking a nap with my new Christmas Baby, while Mom works on the computer.
Hope your holidays were great!
