Happy Independence Day, everybody!
As usual, I spent last night in Mom's closet, just like I do every July 4 (and every New Year's Eve, too).
I peeped out a couple of times to make sure Mom was OK, but mostly I just hid deep in her big comfy closet, 'til all the bang-bang noises were over.
I came out around 1 AM, and jumped up on Mom's bed to let her know it was time to take me outside.
And that's when she noticed that my left hip was all wet. And she knew what I had been doing in the closet - I had been "worryating" on my left hip, and now I have a great big boo-boo there. Mom said I was naughty. I can't help it, though - sometimes I just do this when I'm nervous!
It was all red last night, and Mom put medicine on it.
And naturally, now I have to wear the cone again.
Oops.

Hi Bailey,
I'm sorry that you didn't have a good 4th of July. It's been a bad week for you all the way around...waiting for Gingey and all. I'm not too afraid of bang noises but I do NOT like it when my Mom drags out that vacuum thing. I can't get far enough away from it! She tells me that it won't hurt me but I'm not so sure. I hope your worryation get better soon.
Luv, Lucy
You know, Bailey, my sympathies are with you!...these firework celebrations that humans have are really unreasonable for us dogs. In this household we bark our heads off during those times. Mom puts us in the kitchen with the radio on loud and fills Tammy up with tranquilizers, but its no use.
Remember though, Mom is doing her best to keep you safe, so give her big licks. So sorry about the neck aerial you have to wear. Hope you get better soon.

Hi, Bailey!
I am so sorry you were scared with the fireworks!
Now... the headcone... but I saw you manage yourself well wearing it!
I hope the meds work soon!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

Hi Bailey,
I hope your hip is ok. I did not hear any fireworks...they are illegal in our city. My family went to another city to see them and left me at home because they though I might get scared.
Have a fun week.

Oh Bailey! I hope you get better soon!

Thanks for your kind thoughts, everyone -
Sunny, I can't believe you don't like the vacuum - I am in LOVE with my Mom's Oreck Canister Vac - whenever she gets it out, I flip on my back on the bed, and make her vacuum me all over - it is like the best rubbin' ever!
I wish fireworks were illegal here - we have the Dumbest. Neighbors. Ever.
And I don't mind my cone too much, except when I forget about it, and run into the doorjamb. Then I keep pushing and pushing, until I remember I have to back up a little and reposition myself. Oops!
